
The firm operates as a contractor to archaeologic firms, environmental consultants, and university researchers. We pride ourselves on designing and conducting project specific geoarchaeological research. LRSS works closely with clients to develop cost-effective geoarchaeological research designs for archaeological projects. LRSS has conducted geoarchaeological evaluations for many of the largest landholders and corporations in the United States. A partial list of these landholders includes: United States Army, Army Corps of Engineers, AT&T, Bureau of Land Management, Colorado Interstate Gas, Diamond Shamrock, El Paso Natural Gas, National Park Service, Navajo Nation, Forest Service, Zuni Nations, and departments of transportation in Arizona, Colorado, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming. LaRamie Soils Service is involved with several ongoing archaeological research projects (Yale and Shangdon Universities) in the Peoples Republic of China.
In addition to our geoarchaeological field services, we also offer an array of CRM-related services: soil/sediment laboratory analyses and paleontological consulting. LaRamie Soils Service employs a full-time geoarchaeologists (Michael McFaul),a part-time geoarchaeologists (Dr. Richard G. Reider), and a paleontologist (Dr. Michael Cassiliano). LaRamie Soils Service maintains a strong relationship with six other professional geoscience consultants and its location in Laramie permits ready access to the University of Wyoming's geoscience libraries, specialized laboratories, and regional data bases. Our main office is in Laramie, WY.
LaRamie Soils Service's commitment to geoarchaeological and paleoenvironmental research is evidenced in journal offerings and active membership in professional scientific and archaeologic societies. The firm has an established history of supporting students and independent research.
